Dear sir/madam,

Since no one pick up the phone I have to send this email.

We are going to build our web based softphone application and want to buy your sdk(LanScape VOIP Media Engine Release 5.10) ASAP, but I am concerned of the following thing:

1. The Media Engine supports 4,16,64 lines, let us take the 4 lines for instance, does this mean on the client side the client who makes/receives calls can hold up to 4 lines OR it means on the server side the server that
we will build upon the Media Engine can only process 4 lines of call connenction concurrently.

If it is the first case, which is the client can hold upto 4 lines, is there any limitation for the amount of the lines that the server side can process consurrently? We will build the sofphone for commercial use so there will be a huge amount of calls to process every day.

2. Is there any compatability problem between your products and some server products, we are now using Asterisks.

Thanks to your attention.

Will

Dear Will,

Thank you for contacting LanScape Corporation

I checked our VOIP servers. Our logs do not show you trying to call us via the web/network. At the moment,
our web phone capability does not proxy media and requires you to have specific ports open in your
firewall/router to communicate properly. We will be removing this limitation shortly.

Hopefully, here are the answers to your questions:

Will, the VOIP Media Engine can be used in a VOIP client (like a soft phone) or a server
application (like a media bridge, gateway or conference server, etc).

Regardless of the application you want to develop, the total number of phone
lines (lets assume 4) will allow your application to handle that many phone
calls concurrently (all at the same time). So, if you are going to develop a 4
line soft phone, you would purchase a 4 line VOIP Media Engine. This
will allow your soft phone users to talk to 4 different people all at the
same time or perform a 5-way conference call (yourself and up to four other
people). Does it make more sence?

     2. Is there any compatability problem between your products and some server
products, we are now using Asterisks.

Asterisks is a great open source platform. The VOIP Media Engine works very well with it.
Sorry, our web site needs to be updated to include this information. Good question.
By the way, the VOIP Media Engine works works with Asterisks, SER (SIP Express Router),
Cisco SIP Proxy, Pintel, eStart, XLite soft phones just to name a few.

If you have further questions, please contact me directly.

Looking forward to talking to you soon.

Best regards,

Randal Ziegler

Dear Randal,

Thanks alot to your feedback.

We have decided to buy the product with one license in the first phase. My colleague Chav has already set up an order with you. The order reference is: 050111-74204, and we'd like it to be shipped overnight ASAP.

Any questions, pls feel free to let me know.

regards,

Will
