We have previously come across the issue where our application would be shutdown while on a call. This has caused some undesirable effects.

We have added more case scenarios to attempt shutting down the Media Engine more gracefully; it seems to work until we come across an issue we didn’t expect.

I understand the newest MediaEngine on shutdown will gracefully disconnect any incoming or active calls and unregister before killing the Engine.

What we wanted to know was specifically, what is your upgrade policy for the minor version changes/fixes.

Thanks

Hi Fitz,

Regarding all of our VOIP software: We offer minor version changes/fixes to existing customers who report problems or issues to us. Our goal is to remove problems or issues as they are reported. We are pretty flexible with this policy and try to do the right thing for customers. We generally do this for up to 6 months from a purchase. There are also exceptions to this if the customer and LanScape have a “better that usual” relationship. In that case, we have no problems supporting a customer longer at no charge. It’s a matter of revenue from the customer that determines this.

Interim product releases are eventually rolled into an official product release. For example, we should have the v5.13 media engine ready soon. Once we make the new version available, then upgrading is the preferred way to go. Then we start the cycle all over again….

Legal Note: The statements above may change at any time and LanScape reserves the rights to modify our support policies as required.

In your case, we can create a new product image. Just let us know when you want it. Greg (at your end) should know the FTP login info for your support account.

A new product image would be great. We're ready whenever you are able to create it. And yes, I still have the FTP info.

Thanks!
Greg

Hi Greg,

A new product image is waiting for you in your FTP support account.

Make sure to rebuild your VOIP application against this new image before deploying your poduct.

Thanks,
