Hi, Support,
it has been noticed that after the engine has started, if for some reason the network connection is lost, the softphone application just crashes, we want to catch the exception and handle it so that the softphone can be shut down properly instead of crashing. Could you please help us with this?
thanks,
will

Hi will,
Yes we can work to track this down and fix it. Like all bugs, its most likely a case we may not have tested for. We ask that you do the following:
Figure out what "steps" it takes to reproduce the problem and post your findings to this forum thread.
We will look into it immediately.
Note:
We have v5.12 of the Media Engine coming out very soon so we can incorporate the bug fix into that release. v5.12 has a number of other fixes and enhancements including integrated in-band DTMF capability. Your company qualifies for a free upgrade.

Hi Will,
We passed your information over to the developers this morning. They have already located the issue. Here is what they have identified:
Disabling the NIC used by the VOIP Media Engine when SIP file logging is off and the Media Engine is actively transmitting SIP messages can cause application code to crash.
Further information: If you have not enabled the VOIP Media Engine's ability to log SIP messages to a log file and you then disable the network interface card (NIC) that the VOIP Media Engine is using while it is actively transmitting SIP messages, an internal exception will be generated that may crash application software.
As long as SIP file logging is enabled, this bug will never materialize when actively disabling/enabling the NIC used by the Media Engine. it is only when SIP file logging is off that this problem will occur.
Development has told us that this fix will be made available in v5.12 that will be released in early June.
Thanks for reporting this one!
