Hello All,
It has been a while since we last spoke as we had been staging other important aspects of our products for "going live."
As we return to our VOIP testing, it seems only some obscure DTMF issues remain. We are currently using 5.12.8.8 and are not using the built in DTMF decoder. The LanScape engine is getting <20 ms "blips" for the DTMF audio, and frankly, that isn't near enough for our audio detection to work as it should.
Ideally, there would be some easy Asterisk setting to change to fix that problem and we would move forward no problem. I assume, however, if we got into a more detailed conversation you would tell me that we really should be using your built in decoding for "rock solid" DTMF detection (especially since we are using inband DTMF mode anyways).
I am looking for the path of least development on our part here, but I guess a brief phone conversation may be in order. I need to know if there is any benefit in spending the time and effort to upgrade to V6, or to switch to integrated DTMF mode (which I think we mostly implemented but had false detects with early on).
I would appreciate a quick reply as to whether or not I could schedule such a brief phone call...and what our path forward should be...
Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny,
Good to hear from you again.
DTMF Issues:
So that I can understand the complete situation, we would have to discuss this further. I am not quite sure about the issue you are facing. There must be a solution lurking somewhere….
Upgrading the Release 6 media engine:
The short answer is; Yes, you want to purchase Release 6. Your group will have to make the decision though. The best way to see what has gone on since your v5 media engine version is to take a look at the “Voip Media Engine Version History” published via the web.
LanScape support:
If you remember, we had a month-to-month support situation between your group and us. Unfortunately that was terminated at your end. I run a small shop here and have to get paid for support that we offer past the one month free support we offer for the media engine. If paying for support is not an issue, then I am more than happy to assist with your success.
When we talk, I can fill you in on the latest news regarding operations here. Tell everyone I say hello.
Thanks,
Randal
