Subject: Engineering release version information
Some of you are aware that we offer engineering releases of the VOIP Media Engine to customers that have an active support agreement with us.
The engineering releases of the media engine are used to accelerate the deployment of bug fixes and product improvements in an attempt to get you the functionality you need to develop your VOIP solutions. The engineering releases help us bridge the gap between standard product release cycles.
In the past we have disseminated “engineering release” version information to specific customers only when it was needed. Unfortunately, this is a pretty dumb approach.
Moving forward, we will publish all engineering release version information via the web. The version information will be continuous and will allow you to see what has changed in between each and every engineering (pre-released) version we make available.
Note that at some point in time, we take all engineering release bug fixes and product enhancements and roll those changes into a standard product release. At that time, the version information for the standard product will then be updated to reflect the appropriate product changes.
