Integrate our custom codec could be a good capability.

Hi Hermes,

Yes, supporting a generic codec capability would be an awesome capability.

What type of custom codec (format, rate and sample block time) are you referring to?

Hello, I´m not thinking in a particular codec. I suppose that it isn´t easy to do this generic for every codec.
We have got a very low bit rate codec (2.4Kb/s) with a frame size of 22.5ms. In a near future we hope to use it but nowadays it isn´t any problem because we have still to do a lot of things.

Hi Hermes,

OK. We understand. Just keep us posted regarding your needed capability.

This is fact: If your developed codec performs well and does not infringe on current patent licenses for other codec technologies (i.e. G729, G723.1, etc), it is possible for us to work together and include your codec into the media engine product.

LanScape is actively researching and developing other forms of low bit-rate codecs and alternatives to licensing G729/G729A in our own VOIP end products. With help from our customer base, it is feasible that we may achieve our joint results quicker.

Unfortunately we can´t distribute this codec because it was developed for another company and they have got all rights.
