I'm using version 6.0.0.16 with a normal license. Since
Sunday 30th December 2012 the Media Engine fails to
initialise with "This product has expired".

I've re-installed the release package with the appropriate
license information. I've checked I'm using the correct
redistribution code and the correct microcode file.

Can you see anything I've missed?

Cris,

Make sure you use the DLLs from the standard SDK install. Could it be that you are still using the “engineering release” DLL images you previously downloaded via FTP?

Here are the sha1 signatures for the SDK DLLs you must use:

LMEVoip.dll
sha1: b8d7adacecb16bd8ca6e50f17e3a163788ae5bb8

LMEVoipManaged.dll
sha1: 7a0d1ffbcd96bda467f5783102eaefa467597106

To generate sha1 signatures, Google for the term “fciv”. You should see a Microsoft support site you can download the fciv.exe utility from. Use the utility like this:

fciv.exe %1 -sha1

where %1 is the name of the binary file used to generate the signature.

RJ

Yep. Turns out that Visual Studio can't tell the
difference between the different releases.

I fixed the problem by deleting every LMEVoip.dll and
LMEVoipManaged.dll and then re-installing the licensed
release package.
