As far as the VOIP Media Proxy is concerned, the number of concurrent calls it can handle is the same thing as the number of concurrent sessions if each VOIP call has a single media stream associated with it.

Yes you will require a “PSTN gateway” if you want to initiate and receive calls to/from land lines or cell phones. Note that if you use our VOIP Media Proxy, you must deploy it with our SIP proxy server products. See the following URL for SIP proxy products:
