Hi
I am looking to accelerate the development of a Video Application Server by using LanScape products.
The basic functions I need are:
- make and receive sip/rtp video calls
- record the video and audio streams in a flexible format
- realtime transcoding of video and audio for onward transmission to: established inbound sip/rtp video calls, new outbound sip/rtp video calls and broadcast formats like windows media, real, helix etc.
- use of dtmf in video calls as "transport control" ie: play, pause, rewind, etc.
- note that these video calls required video and audio on seperate rtp ports and use rtcp to synchronize them
Which elements of this application can LanScape help with?

Hi skytiger,
Thank you for your post to this forum.
Sorry for the delay. We will try to assemble a response for you shortly.
One question we do have: Do you want to locate all “off the shelf” technology or are you looking for software development assistance?
We will post other info shortly…

We intend to build the SIP Server and Application Server in-house - we want an off-the-shelf RTP Media Server (or at least components of) ideally we wouldn't need software development assistance as the off-the-shelf product would be well documented and architected to meet our needs!

Hi skytiger,
Excuse the delay in this response.
From what you describe, the current products that may benefit you are the:
Centrex (SIP) proxy server:
http://www.lanscapecorp.com/ProductPages/CentrexProxy.asp
and the VOIP Media proxy server:
http://www.lanscapecorp.com/ProductPages/VoipMediaProxy.asp
… products we offer
These 2products used together will help you manage your own VOIP (voice + video) call domains and allow your peer endpoints to overcome all NAT issues.
The VOIP Media Engine product we offer is planned to support MPEG4 video in the future but no hard date has been specified for our video release. Currently the media engine can be used to help you develop your very own VOIP apps that support audio RTP payloads only.
Repost as needed,
