We need to be able to make multiple, simultaneous calls from one computer through a T1 phone gateway. We do not expect any incoming calls. We do NOT want incoming voice data, but we do want incoming DTMF events. We do need to be able to play a prerecorded (or text to speech) message when the land-line phone answers.

Which if any product is suitable for our application? If you have one, what are the licensing terms for 24 simultaneous calls. What about calls spread out on multiple computers due to CPU and network loads?

Initiating outgoing calls via a T1 PSTN gateway:
Your media engine based app will communicate with the gateway using the SIP and RTP capabilities of the media engine.

No incoming calls:
OK.

Detecting incoming DTMF events:
Not an issue. Your calls can use in-band DTMF signal detection (calls can only use uLaw, aLaw or any one of the supported PCM codecs) or RFC2833 DTMF detection. Note that RFC2833 DTMF detection is far superior and can be used with any supported codec in the media engine.

Playing a pre-recorded message:
Not an issue. You can play back any sample block data to any individual media engine phone line.

Suitable LanScape Products:
You want the VOIP Media Engine ( http://www.lanscapecorp.com/ProductPages/LanScapeVoipMediaEn gine.asp).

Note that at this time the media engine supports Microsoft Windows operating systems only.

You will have to purchase a license for a 32 line media engine. This way your VOIP app will be able to handle up to 32 concurrent VOIP calls.

The current licensing prices are published at the web store:

The media engine is licensed on a per application basis – a license is purchased to develop a single app. We have a “low volume” licensing structure and an “unlimited licensing” structure.

Basically the low volume licensing allows you to purchase a single license once and then distribute up to 10 of your apps. You can purchase additional licenses as your deployment needs increase.

The unlimited licensing has to be renewed each year and allows you to distribute as many copies of your app as you see fit.

The licensing info for the media engine is located here on the web:

All good questions K9!

Thanks,

Support
