Hi,

As we have discussed in Transfer Types topic current media engine still does not support attended/consult transfer using SIP Refer method.

Searching on this subject I found a good internet draft describing Refer method in a good and understandable document. See http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-sipping-cc-tr ansfer-09.txt .

Is there any program to support Refer method in your next release?

Regards,
Jalal

Hi Jalal,

Yes, attended call transfer and unattended call transfer using SIP REFER/NOTIFY method is on the media engine’s Development “To Do” list. It’s in the top 10 items that must get done.

Right now the R+D team splits their time between performing custom software development for customers (VOIP application development), paid support contract work and LanScape standard product development. The only real way we would be able to expediting getting REFER/NOTIFY call transfer in the product is if we open a short term development contract to do the work (paid R+D in other words). It’s all about keeping the bills paid. If your firm is interested, let us know.

Hi Jalal,

REFER/NOTIFY attended and unattended call transfer will not be in the initial v6 release. We are however going to try to get it into the product yet this year. No hard time frame – but we know we need this capability.

Hi,

Does your latest release of LME support REFER/Notify Feature? Is there any document to compare v6 with your previous v5 of LME?

Thanks,
Jalal

Hello Jalal,

Good to hear from you. It has been busy here.

Release 6 VOIP media engine does not contain attended call transfer using REFER/NOTIFY. We know this capability is needed by some customers and eventually we will put it into the product. There are going to be additional releases yet this year so it is possible we might add it then. REFER/NOTIFY is in the top 10 new capabilities that have been targeted to be added to the media engine.

Then best way to see all the changes between the last v5 media engine and the current Release 6 media engine is to look over the version history information via the web:

http://www.lanscapecorp.com/ProductPages/VOIP%20Media%20Engi ne%20Version%20History.htm

v5.12.8.14 was the final v5 product and v6.0.0.0 represents the first Release 6 product.

Also, Release 6 media engine supports .NET languages where v5 product does not.

Thank you,

Randal
