Hi,

I have a problem registering Nokia N95 Mobile Phone to Centrex Proxy. I'm sure all my settings on Centerex is OK because I have registered my two different softphones to the Proxy without any problem while Authentication is set to ON on the centerex.

Here is the log captured with Wireshark when Nokia tries to register to the proxy.

I don't know why your proxy sends "Bad Extension" sip message.

Jalal,

We will look into it. Its usually always something simple.

Please do us a favor, instead of poting SIP logs using ethereal/wireshark, generate a SIP log directly from the proxy and post from that.

Hi,

I will try to send you the log file from the proxy tomorrow because I don't have access to our N95 Phone now. But be sure that these wireshark logs are captured on the Centerex server.

Regards,
Jalal

Something I forgot to say is that N95 Phone can successfully register to Centerex when Centerex's Authentication is set to be OFF.

Hi Jalal,

Thanks for waiting for us to respond. We upgraded network software and equipment last week that caused us to not be able to properly perform support duties. We are back to normal now.

We see the same things here. We will post again when we fix it.

Hi Jalal,

Even though this post is old, we want to post our response. Sorry… but we forgot all about this one.

The problem with the REGISTER request from your Nokia phone is the presence of the header:

Code:

Proxy-Require: sec-agree

The Centrex SIP proxy does not support this extension. Please configure your phone to not use the “sec-agree” extension. If you do, you will be able to register properly. It does not matter if authentication is ON or OFF at the Centrex SIP proxy. The proxy will respond to your original REGISTER request with 420 every time if the above mentioned header is present.

Here is a SIP log showing successful registration:

Code:
