Is there a way to change the preferred order of codecs
in the list of supported codecs? I find the VoIP Media
Engine is always selecting G729 if it is advertised in
the UAC Media Description. We prefer to use G711 PCMU.
Cicso and Avaya refuse to remove non-preferred codecs
from their configuration.
Thank you
Jim

Hi Jim,

The API procedure SetAudioMediaFormats() procedure allows you to specify what codecs will be used during call negotiations and in what order. Look it up in the SDK help file. It should be pretty easy to see what I mean.

Using the above API procedure allows you to select which codecs should be used and what order codecs are resolved. You guys are probably using the default SDK behavior that exists.

Randy
